The British minimalist moombahton invasion continues. There are probably a lot of you who may read this blog and wear glasses and get into debates about music who have a negative opinion of moombahton. You may say it’s this obvious proto-slowed down dutch house or electro that are the same unsubtle tools in every song like lasers and horns to make people party. You would be right about a lot of moombah (but also about a lot of everything else) and a convincing argument could be made that such music is necessary for big clubs that are really just adult escapist sex hunting fun fairs. If you want to see another side to moombahton and music in general then look at the output of our pasty faced former colonial overlords. They are making moombahton where you have to pay attention. They are making atmospheric shit and they are definitely, more than anywhere else making it in a style that can be truly called distinctive. You will get more proof of this fact tomorrow when the new Disgraceland EP drops but in the meantime, grab this EP from British moombahton stalwarts Jake Twell and Jamrock. This is quite a dive into a minimalist late night place that will reward you. Go check it out and grab it!
