Generation Bass are very different than us yet we often find ourselves being compared to them and also that we are often at odds. We are not as folkloric music oriented as them. We are about being drunk and high in the club. The only politics we care about are the politics of booty like: “how does one grab it?” or “where does one get more?”. There’s one thing that we can agree on though: Javier Estrada is the best.
Prehispanico Vol 2 finds him exploring the sounds of the lost world of Mexico before Spaniards came and messed with everything. At times it feels like you’re walking in the jungle or taking part in some tribal ceremony. Maybe there’s some Apocalypto type shit going down which would be scary. Seriously though, if you can’t be transported away by Aztechminmal vs Cumbia or Danza Del Fuego then you ain’t got no ears or something serious. Check it out yourself:
